Lady Alice - Jutland Horse mare, from concept to completion

Perhaps you can use my walkthrough as inspiration for how to approach 3D sculpting/modelling horses yourself - or perhaps you have some tips for me, as I am always learning.

See comments on each image.

I use Nomad Sculpt for my iPad Pro. I love this program and format, because I can take it with me everywhere and have short work sessions; at my break at work, when I wait for the water to boil or whenever I have 10 minutes I can dedicate to making art.

The reference photos I used for this project, are taken by myself, at Roskilde Dyrskue, at Store Hestedag and in Copenhagen Zoo of real Jutland Horses.

The anatomy drawing references are '1898 Hermann Dittrich Handbuch der Anatomie der Tiere Für Künstler' and a preview, I believe, from AnatomicalPrints.com.

Alice was sculpted in April-May 2026. Go HERE to see her regular info page.
